Computer help, please

I am trying to write a letter and it's 10 inches wide. I can't remeber how to change the margins??

1. Generally in the page setup option off the File menu.

2. Actually, you don't need computer help, you need software help.

And you didn't mention what software you are using, but assuming it's a word processor, most of them if you go file --> page setup you will find a menu for changing margins.

3. I presume you're using Microsoft Word or something like that.

Sounds like to me that the page has been set up in landscape format rather than portrait.

Go to File -> Page Setup. A window will pop up with some controls.

Make sure in Orientation you have "Portrait". If that's not it then click on the Paper tab and make sure it's the right size.

If your writing is now off the edge of the paper then you have to move the margins at the top of the page yourself.
