4. I worked for Food Lion as a cashier in college...

...and I know some things I won't sing praises about. However, at the time, they offered benefits to their part-time employees (vacation, sick leave, savings plan, etc.) who had at least 1000 hours of service. Also, they paid time and a half for working on Sundays and holidays. :) So that was a big plus!

They are cheaper on a lot of things, and they've started carrying good organic brands. Also, they've remodeled all their stores around here, so it's nicer to look at and easier to find things. Only downside is that they don't carry a lot of what I buy, so I have to go to Harris Teeter across the street.
