I saw Talladega Nights tonight - loved it!! |
|
There were times the writing was weak and the transitions didn't hold together, and some of the scenes had some definite problems, but overall this is a fucking funny movie, and well worth seeing.
One point seven five thumbs up!

my throat and stomach hurt. My husband thought it was funny.
Our friend saw it with us, he thought it was stupid. He didn't think it was supposed to be a parody.

The scene with Ricky Bobby's various spokesman ads -- the Big Red one. Something to the effect of, "If you don't chew Big Red, then fuck you."

stand there and he's funny to me.
Like Eddie Murphy was to me when I was a kid watching Delirious or Raw.
Or like Chevey Chase in the first 3 Lampoon Vacations. Chevy could just stand there. . .
Spoiler:
My favorite scene is when he thought he was paralyzed and he was all "why are you guys doing this to me, i'm just trying to get on with my life. . " his deadpan was sick.
Classic. I can't wait for whatever his 3rd installment of this type character is going to be. If you can find a good youtube of his Neil Diamond skit its fucking hilarious.

13. i agree to a certain extent. |

Talladega seemed a tad more scripted. . . but anchorman is a dfficult one to follow up since to me its a comedic masterpiece.

14. Did you stay all the way through the credits? |
|
I don't want to post a complete spoiler, so I'll just say: It is worth sitting through the credits for the last clip, especially for you English majors.

15. Yep! I always stay through credits! Very funny on this one. |
|
I am always astounded at the vast, vast majority of Americans (that is, idiots) who leave as soon as the credits roll.
It says a lot about their respect for art.
