Unusual phobias...
Ran across these on YouTube, and have caught similar segments on TV every now and then. It's kind of fascinating in a way, but it's also heartbreaking. I have my fears, but I don't think I'd ever have as violent a reaction to them as these people do, to things like mustard, birds, and pickles. I can't imagine living my life deathly afraid of everyday things. It must be a hard life, even harder when they put you in front of a huge audience.:(

1. I just can't believe Connie Chung married that, lol.
I wonder if those people are acting. Sometimes if you watch all those shows alot, which I did for a couple of years when I was caring for my grandmother and house-bound, you'll see the same people popping up on different shows (this was before I had a decent computer).

My aunt when I lived there had an annoying phobia of my cockatiel Chicken Little. It's because of that stupid 'The Birds' movie. It used to drive me nuts, because my little guy wouldn't hurt a flea, he loves everyone. But she would go berserk everytime she was around him when he was out of his cage. It used to drive me nuts.

2. My roommate last year...
was addicted to VH1 and every trashy talk show in existence; I saw plenty of interesting people. :)

3. once I saw this lady from "Date My Mom" on MTV
(she was the big blonde lady whose daughter was a stripper) on that tv guide show on channel 3 getting hypnotized to pretend to be Paris Hilton or something. Or they'll pop up on some reality prank show and then all of a sudden a few months later you see them on 'divorce court'. I think it's a circuit for out of work actors or something.

I had a horrible phobia of dogs when i was younger. i would cry when they came around, but I really loved animals and it bothered me enough that I got a job at a kennel and just bluffed my way through it. I was so scared at first, and on top of that I couldn't act scared either. i just watched the lady that was training me and it got better and better. Now I'm pretty fearless, I can't even count how many dog-fights I've broken up. I saw a show the other night where they help OCD people stop doing their rituals by making them face their fears, it was pretty cool.

4. I have a friend with a deer phobia.
Yep, deer. She's seriously terrified of deer.

Lucky for her, we live in a city.

5. Holy shit....
I have the same fear of pickles and mustard. My sister used to chase me around the house with pickles. Luckily this fear (I freak out if I touch a pickle) has kept me from ever working in fast food. I find touching or smelling mustard repulsive. But, I don't get the violent reaction I do when I am around a pickle.
