Who has local, unsigned music on their iPod? |
|
In an effort to fuel the national, underground music scene in all genre's I want to hear from people who have local music in the mix they listen to every day. Tell us the city the band hails from and,if you have website info, tack it on. Gratuitous self promotion is the key to success.
It can be your band, a friend's band, a club/bar band you go out to see, whatever.
Here's what I have on mine, all these artists are from Bremerton, WA (and suburbs):
Bodega: Silver, Good Times (rock, now called HalfHalo - google 'em) TeeJizzle & Average Joe: Whatever, Who Did It?, Handle This, Bigger (HipHop - check 'em on MySpace) Siren (me): Walk Away, Run, Seeing Me, Unleashed, theFool (not on web yet)
Sound off if you like to support your local bands by keeping their music on hand at all times.
Rock on!

Nowhere Fast.. The Readymen.. Artless Motives... <-- My Fav. Piglet.. ShortRound.. Oswald 5-0.. <-- /*starts to cry*/ Some Cheap Christ.. <-- All members are still living -- Adam is still a fucktard, ha. The Minimals..
I don't think any of them have websites.. I doubt over half of the members are still alive. Eugene Punk Rock Scene in the late 90's...
--Can we please add fucktard to the spellcheck? I use it all the time.

We used to have a fantastic local music scene.. It is either dead, or I got old.

And, while the Seattle scene is hot again, the scene on my side of the Sound seems to be drying up as well.
I think its because those in all the great bands around here are getting to be over 30 and giving up hopes of rock stardom in favor of the needs of everyday life.
I know that's the reason I stopped following 'em around. :(
