OMG! Tom Cruise is fucking amazing!! Why did I never see him before?
I just watched Top Gun - just finished - and OMG!!! OMFG!!!!! That is like the best THE BEST, ever, EVER!!!! movie I've ever seen!! I'm breathless - I've never been so emotional, so twisted up inside from such plausible and genuine emotional writing! It was like a 2 boxes of Kleenex movie, esp. when Goose died!! OMFG!!! It was like it was a documentary, it was so perfectly real, and just like all the people I know. How wonderful! How sad!! How exciting!!! And such a FANTASTIC story!! I mean, my God, that's some serious writing - that was like David Brown or Jackie Collins or Michael Crichton level writing, it was sooooo fucking good!

Why didn't any of you tell me about this movie and this actor?!?! He's like a God!! are all his movies this amazing?

I've got Last Samurai ready to go, and I bet that's gonna be a truthfully historical movie about a man trying to come to terms iwth his emotions who breaks out of his hsell and shows that he's a man AND can cry AND kick ass! I bet it's just as good as Top Gun, but probably with even better costumes, because I know the Japanese had the best costumes back then, ebcause they didn't wear clothes then, just those outfits/costumes. I bet this'll be just like a documentary, too, except you know from the past from before movies u know LOL!?!?!?

OMFG!!!OMFG!!!OMFG!!!OMFG!!!OMFG!!!OMFG!!!OMFG!!!OMFG!!!OMFG!!!OMFG!!!OMFG!!!OMFG!!!

I CAN'T WAIT!!!

12. I'm sorry. The picture excited me so that I lost all control and suffered
premature communication...

And I take it that by "there goes lunch" you're not saying he looks good enough to eat.

I'll do anything* to make it up to you...

Here, as a downpayment on my karmic debt:

Praying you're not Viggo-averse...

I could say exactly the same back to you. In fact, I will. No, not the bit about wanting to ogle (et cetera Mr Mortensen, but the bit that goes along the lines of you making me laugh and being smart.

2. Uh, you do know that speed kills, right? and
Tom himself would be telling you this if I wasn't. He's too busy becoming a "clear" and bitching about other people's choices right now to answer, but I'm sure he would if he could.

:)

18. No, Far and Away. THAT'S the best
Not only is Cruise great, but it ranks up there with the Stepford Wives as one of Kidman's best films.

13. You should be more careful with blotter acid.
It does really weird shit to your head. You might end up joining a Britney Spears fan club or something. (Actually, I sort of enjoyed Top Gun, but that's only because I like airplanes.)

And why do they have all those perforated little pieces? Yeah, it helped to be able to break off bitesize pieces, but still, it would have been easier to just rip it up and eat larger pieces.

22. It was totally beyond what Orson Welles could have done.
You're right - that was the most important scene in the film; perhaps the most important scene in all of filmdom.

I've decided to do my doctoral dissertation on that scene.
