Always weird when I stand by someone taller than me (hey, edwin!), because I'm just not used to being the little guy, but even men (or women) an inch or two shorter than me often seem taller than I am simply because I'm not used to looking at an eyeline close to my own height.

Anything 6' or over is pretty tall for a man, but it seems like people only really begin to comment that much on height once the dude gets past maybe 6'2" or, certainly, 6'3". I think the number of people over 6'3" tails off pretty rapidly, though I've met quite a few 6'7" males (my great uncle, who was 40 years older than my grandfather, who was 6' 4", was one...pretty unusual back in the latter half of the 19th Century) and a few somewhere over 7' who had to bend to get through doors.

Not unusually tall, but definitely taller than average.

It is a gruesome story how I came to be tall; I was once a little boy, and then I grew some.

There is an organization for tall people, with about 60 local chapters in different cities. I am a member of my local chapter in San Diego. The minimum height requirements are 6'2" for men and 5'10" for women; some chapters, most notably the Los Angeles chapter, have more stringent requirements.
