Hey! For all of you who know how to post .jpg pics on DU - - -

I understand how to post a pic from the internet. That's easy enough.

But I can't figure out how to post a .jpg photo that's stored on my computer.

Can anyone help me out??

1. photobucket is a good way to do it....

go to www.photobucket.com and open a free account. From there you can upload your pics from your computer and then post the URL that photobucket gives you and post it to DU.

2. You have to upload it to a webserver first.

PhotoBucket.com seems to be the standard of comparison
at the moment, but I'm seeing more people using Flickr lately.

That you have to upload it from your computer to the internet first. I could be wrong, though; after all, it has happened once or twice before.

I tried to do that a few days ago. No luck.

14. When I find a pic online that I want to post

I usually save it to my photobucket account first, then post. I got caught once not doing that and the place I took it from replaced the pic with a photo thief pic. I was a bad girl but learned my lesson.

16. Click on the photo you want.....copy the URL

(http://www.blah blah blah republicans suck.jpg), paste to the body of your post to get something like this!!:



You can make sure what you just pasted is going to work by hitting the "preview" button before you hit the "post message" button! :)
