My 23-month-old knows all his letters! |
|
I'm so proud of him! All of a sudden in the past couple of weeks he's been recognizing letters and saying them when he sees them. He knows them all! He can't say them in order, but if you point to any letter he can tell you what it is! He says "double" instead of "double-u" and "ets" instead of "H", but he's not even 2 yet!
He's also picking up so many new words every day, we can't keep up. He must have hundreds of words by now. He just can't stop naming things. Last night he didn't want to go to bed. He just kept pointing at things and saying what they were, and if he didn't know what it was, he'd ask "Name?" and we'd tell him. He can name just about everything in the whole apartment.
I kept asking him if he was ready for night-night, and he would say, "bye-bye night-night" and then continue running around pointing at things--"table, futon, cat, winnow!" (window.)
Just bragging!

I have no idea when I started with the alphabet, but I taught myself to read starting at about age 2.
Sounds like your son could be similar. :)

6. He should hang out with my niece |
|
Who is about 20 months. When she went for her 18-month checkup, the doctor told my brother she should have a vocabulary of about 12 words. My brother told her "I wish she only had a vocabulary of 12 words." The niecelet is a bit of a motormouth. :P

we thought he was a genius, turns out - he's smart, but never applied himself. Now as he enters his sophomore year in college, he's thinking about being a professor.

He does have some that are his favorite, tho. M, Q, U, and Y are the ones he points out the most.
