Which of your dreams have come true?
I got to live in Southern California.

I got to be Ship's Navigator.

I work in an R&D (telecomm) test lab.

Too many of my peoples are going thru' rough times right now, so it can't be all bad out there. :(

How about you?

1. Most of them
Most of the dreams related to what I wanted to do have already come true, including dreams never articulated. There are some things I yet want to happen -- as pragmatic as a degree of greater financial security (I'm getting there again, at last) and as dreamy as taking what I am into now as far as I can, or securing the dream position that combines some of my strongest strengths -- but what dreams remain are primarily ones related to love, romance, and one day having a family of my own. The other dreams I haven't had a real problem manifesting, but those more personal ones can be elusive.

3. Most of them -- but they all happened before 2000.

I'm incredibly fortunate and have a good life, but things have definitely flatlined since pretty much exactly 2000 for me. Coincidence? Maybe!

On edit -- I forgot to answer your question. I have my dream life partner, a cute little house, and a couple of awesome kids. Relationship and family dreams:

My career is in the shitter at the moment, but I hope to get it back on the track it WAS on. So career dreams:

5. A few.
I've been to the UK and loved it. :) And I got my master's degree (albeit nearly 10 years ago!). I made it past 40 with just a little wear and tear to show for it. :P

I have lots of dreams that are yet to be realized. I'm still working on them. :)

7. What a great question--very positive
I make magic, just like I've wanted to since I was a kid. And I study with a great teacher for it, just like I always wanted to.

I write for a living. Too bad my boss is a sh!t and the pay is worse. Perhaps that part will change.

I have a great family, including the smartest, cutest toddler on the planet (of course--because mommy says).

When I was young and single, I had quite the dramatic life, and I was happy to have it and now happy to leave that part behind.

8. My dream of being a mom
Almost 3 years ago (September 7, 2003) I got a call from my husband telling me that our adoption agency had called and we had been assigned a 16 month old little girl by the Chinese. It has not been all beer and skittles by a long shot and being a mom IS hard work (as opposed to prezidentin') but I love it and her.

9. Not many, literally...
But I learned to adjust after successful surgery to remove a brain tumor. Being alive is nice.

10. this is freaking me out.
I don't think any of them have.

Because I keep changing. What I wanted as a teen and the way I lived after that are totally different because I completely changed. Then in my early 20's I changed again. Then in my early thirties another change came along and completely caught me off guard. All I wanted when I was little was to be able to be outside as much as possible and be left alone to do what I wanted to do, and I have done a fair amount of that and still do so that's true and it's my favorite thing.

13. I had an article published in Downbeat Magazine
...which was a childhood dream.
I made a name for myself in the jazz industry.
I have a beautiful, amazing child.
I live in a house filled with love.
I have wonderful friends, and that group even includes my son's father, who has been amazingly supportive through all of the changes we've gone through in the past year.

I am one of the luckiest people on the planet. I count my blessings every day.

14. I had three dreams...two have come true
One is a little too personal to write here, but the second was to write a book and get it published. That happened last month. My third, yet unrealized, dream is to visit London.

16. The reason behind this
is so many friends are having a rough time right now. The short answer:

My brother is still gainfully unemployed. His contract job ended a month ago.

One friend just had his ex-wife-to-be served with divorce and custody papers. Mediation was unsuccessful.

Another friend, who's a paralegal, just got laid off. Legislation changed the job function, a lawyer has to do what she did.

It's gotta get better! :)
