The people we will NEVER reach....
Sometimes, I just get so frustrated about people's attitudes toward being (or NOT being, rather) a part of the global community, and involved in their place in the world, you know? A thread on my other board is discussing how out of touch people are with world news, and this was just posted:

"Occasionally (my husband) gives me updates and lets me know "important" things, like Jon Benet, otherwise I told him just to let me know if they start bombing the US."

Wow. I don't know if I can post in that thread again. I don't think she's being facetious. Ugh. Yeah, just let me know if they're bombing us. Uh-huh.

2. Nothing pisses me off like willful ignorance!
I understand not knowing something, but to intentionally make yourself unaware is scary. It speaks, I think, to the general lack of critical thinking skills found in modern America. Who wants important information, no one knows what to do with it or how to process it.

:argh:

Thanks for frustrating me, dude! :P

3. Same here.
"Politics? I don't pay any attention to that. They're gonna do what they're gonna do. Doesn't have anything to do with me and my life anyway."

:grr:
