Knack drummer Bruce Gary dies at 54

Rock drummer Bruce Gary, who worked with George Harrison, Bob Dylan and Stephen Stills but is best known as the original drummer with The Knack, has died. He was 54.

Gary died Tuesday in Los Angeles, according Guy McCain, publicist for The Knack's lead singer Doug Fieger. He had been suffering from lymphoma, but no cause of death was given.

The Knack was formed in 1978 and a year later hit it big with My Sharona, backed by Gary's powerful beat.

The Los Angeles group's debut album Get the Knack sold six million copies and was followed by a second album ... but the little girls understand.

I guess he died of cancer. RIP Bruce.

2. The Curse of The Knack strikes again!

"He was an integral part of our sound, not to mention a great drummer," Fieger, who himself is recovering from a brain tumour said in a statement.

I can hear it now: "Good girls don't... put curses on two-hit wonder bands.. but I do... but I do..."

Or maybe they played one too many shows at Love Canal? :shrug:
