CHICAGO (AP) -- Cook County prosecutors say a 29-year-old man traveling with his mother desperately didn't want her to know he'd packed a sexual aid for their trip to Turkey.

So he told security it was a bomb, officials said.

Madin Azad Amin was stopped by officials on Aug. 16 after guards found an object in his baggage that resembled a grenade, prosecutors said.

When officers asked him to identify it, Amin said it was a bomb, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Lorraine Scaduto.

He's been charged with felony disorderly conduct, said Andrew Conklin, a spokesman with the Cook County state's attorney's office.

Amin faces up to three years in prison if convicted.

And we do have a prisoner exchange program with them, which was born out of that ancient MIDNIGHT EXPRESS movie about Turkish prisons and hashish smuggling.

And I didn't say the systems were less onerous, but they do treat crimes differently. If you recall, they actually RELEASED the Pope shooter for a time.

They may not look at this matter as seriously as we do, in which case, the guy would benefit if he were a citizen.

He declared to TSA, in violation of federal law, that he had a bomb. But because it was a PENIS pump, we should all say AWWWWWW...poor fellah.

The max sentence is three years. He'd do half that if they gave him the max. Odds are, owing to circumstances, assuming he has a decent lawyer, he conducts himself appropriately in court, and assuming he has no prior record, he could end up with a lesser sentence, suspended.

If they hand searched every checked bag there would be far fewer aircraft taking off from any airport on a given day. Some airports do full xray, some do targeted xrays, a few have puffers, though not many, some are pulled out if they look a bit funny and subsequently hand searched, and there is no standardized system of checking bags.

And if they find something odd, they pull you away...not your mammma, just you.

I had a friend whose bottle of nuoc mam (Vietnamese fish sauce) broke in his checked bag, and he was hauled away to explain the matter. The rest of his party didn't accompany him.

Mamma would just have to sit her ass down in the sterile area and wait for Penisboy to return. And he wouldn't have had to make up a foolish lie.

Of course, perhaps his English is so limited that he pronounced pump, pomp, and it came out sounding like bomb. But if that isn't the explanation, he's gotta be yanked up short.

Suspicious looking things in my carry-on luggage, and rather than risk the embarrassment of saying it's a sex toy, I like to tell airport security that it's really a bomb or other explosive device. I get waved through with no trouble at all. I can't imagine why Mr. Amin had a problem on his way to Turkey.

He presided over at least one murder trial where the defendant was convicted. During the judge's trial there was an audio tape played which was made by the court reporter during a murder trial. That trial involved the shaking death of a child. It was this trial that instigated the investigation as I understand it. Apparently, one of the cops who was there to testify decided to investigate the whoosing sounds he had heard during a court recess - and observed the penis pump under the bench.
