My master's is in education; my bachelor's is in physics. I'm an unemployed physics and math teacher.
I can probably get a job making cooler bombs to kill people with, though.

10. I was talking today.. |
|
.. to my brother, who has two friends who completed higher education to go into education - who are now working in other fields because there was no money at all in the education jobs they trained for.
The truth is, these days you are more likely to be able to make a living installing alarms or fixing air conditioners. Sounds nuts, but that's the way it is.

8. Look at the bright side: |
|
You have a wife and children who love you.
Things WILL get better.
(BTW: There are reasons why I ultimately chose the hospital a month ago... not just the lame excuse of "bad drug interaction caused me to cry") because I know there is hope and my time was not for last month.

I appreciate the thought. If you don't mind me asking, what were you in the hospital for? I haven't been in the lounge much lately; when I'm on the internet I'm just looking for jobs.
I hope everything's ok.

it's just the way life is these days for hard working people, and when they aren't working, it's much worse, so people like me should be the ones who feel bad for complaining. I have a question, hope you don't mind...in your state, can you apply for medical coverage for the kids at least?

18. I can, but when we tried there was so much red tape that we weren't |
|
able to. If we stay here, we'll keep trying. But we may be moving to Michigan to live with my in-laws. I don't think they have anything there; but living for free may allow us to purchase health care.
Thanks for the lifter.

those are the programs that are supposed to help people, they make it so difficult yet they land up getting abused by the wrong people.
Here in PA, it's called Blue Chip. In Michigan it's MIChild. Here you can get it if your kids are not covered by a health insurance plan through your employer, and you meet the income guidelines. Otherwise, we have medical assistance. If you ever have to go to the Dr. or hospital for any reason, ask them for help in applying for any programs like that vs. paying for it yourself. Also, doctors office get loads of samples of medications, maybe that could be helpful for you should you need medications. If I know a drug isn't cov'd by my plan, the Dr. office gives me the samples. Hope you don't mind me mentioning this stuff. I wish you the best.

Thank you very much for mentioning these programs! I really had no idea Michigan had one; in fact, I thought they didn't. I may end up oweing my children's coverage to you!
"MIChild" -- I'll have to look that up.
Thanks again; I really appreciate it!
