21. He WHAT?
God, I feel terrible. Escovedo's new album is, like, the album of the year. This is just awful.

On the other hand, it is kinda fun to imagine Bush saying the name. Say "Alejandro Escovedo" in your best Bush impression. ... See? Funny!

23. Castanets is allegedly one of the most-played songs on his Ipod
Details here:

Apparently the feeling isn't mutual, from a review of one of Escovedo's shows:

But Mr. Escovedo led the charge, wailing through bluesy Lou Reed-influenced rockers like "Castanets," a tune that somehow wound up on President Bush's iPod, according to a 2005 story in the The New York Times.

"We were humiliated, and we banished it from the set list for a while," Mr. Escovedo told the crowd. "But we're playing it again because he's on his way out."

16. As I understand it
the president isn't elected by the electorate, but by the states via the electoral college. There is no question of whether he was elected the second time - I do not recall any intervention by the Supreme Court. There may well have been voter fraud, but that's an issue for the states concerned, isn't it? Anyway, I wasn't aware that the constitution said anything about being elected - I thought it simply said that a president could not serve more than two terms. By January 2009, Bush will have done just that no matter what.

20. He may just help the Dems
get back majorities in Congress because of his and his administration's ineptitude, corruption, and stupidity.

Thank you, President Bush! :)

Uh...that's the only good thing I can think of.

24. The story about him meeting his transgendered former classmate
At his college reunion. For those who've never heard it, a woman approached Bush and introduced herself, and said, "You may not remember me, but when I attended here, my name was Peter." Bush, according to reports, took her hand and shook it, and said "Now you've come back as yourself."

Possibly the only decent, kind, thoughtful thing I've ever heard about him.

(Also, I do like the color pallette of his ties, though Clinton wore cooler patterns.)
