12. I love Combat Rock
That's my favorite Clash album, fir nostalgic reasons. It came out while I was in high school and was practically my theme album. my high school ten year prediction was "Still Rockin the Casbah!".

However, honestly, I'd have to admit that either Sandinista or London Calling are better albums on th whole.

14. I recommended LC for the first-time Clash record buyer
not to take anything away from Combat Rock or Sandinista!

6. There's a nice double CD greatest hits package
Can't remember the exact title
Their first album is great
Super Black Market Clash has some of their more experimental material

For a great read about the Clash see the anthology of Lester Bangs writing Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung. His reaction to them is like Hunter S. Thompson's reaction to George McGovern. His innate cynicism left him predisposed to hate them, however after spending time with them he realized that they really did exemplify the best of human potential.

24. C'mon. That was the nearest thing to total shit that they put out.
You gotta be crazy to like that particular album better than London Calling.

Like, really crazy.

25. Sandinista couldn't even hold London Calling's jock strap...
Edited on Fri Aug-25-06 07:32 PM by driver8
if records wore jock straps, that is.

London Calling is the best!!!

15. London Calling is number 7 on Rolling Stone's 500 best albums
I would have to agree with that. Then I'd get Sandanista.

Actually, any of the first three albums were flawless in my opinion, but someone had to vote for this one.

20. Go buy London Calling immediately
Sandanista is just as good, but London Calling is longer running, I think. You can put that on during a road trip, and you will be rocking on as you realize that it's just played twice, and you're pulling into your destination. One of the best albums ever put together. Not a bad song in the bunch.

26. I always thought that Sandinista would have been a great "one
record" album. There is too much other crap on the album for me to sit and listen to it.

"Washington Bullets", however, is one of my favorite Clash songs.
