I put on some satiny track pants on sleep in and I jumped on my futon. Well, I have satin sheets and I pretty much just slid off the end. Fortunately, it's just a futon mattress on a low frame, so the fall was only about 10" If video existed, it would have been really funny.

5. Yep. I actually have a lot of kodak moments. |

I tend to injure myself reguarly doing things that normally don't result in injury. However, I very rarely injure myself doing something in which I should be rightfully injured.

3. That reminds me of the time I got some |
|
satin sheets for my bed. I had gotten rid of my old full sized bed and gotten this twin sized captain's bed. I wanted the sheet to be new too. I made the bed and got in that night to sleep. Before the night was through, I had slipped out rather awkwardly and slippery like at least twice. At the time, it was no laughing matter, but now it's hilarious to remember.

6. This is the first time I've slipped out but... |
|
normally I don't combine the satin sheets with satiny track pants. Satin on satin is like super slick.

17. Oooo, satin on satin action. Nice. |

I'll bet you were as slippery as a wet noodle in that bed. I can also attest that skin on satin is pretty slippery too, but I never wore satin to bed. You are in a nice position to try and let me know which is actually slipperier/more slippery (slipperier, is that a word?)

I'm mostly indestructible. Anyway, I've taken far harder knocks in karate, including breakfall training, which at the higher ranks involves purposely throwing yourself into rolls and falls on hardwood floors & concrete.

10. thats the main reason |
|
why there are no satin sheets on my bed...we had them on for one night(we got them as a wedding gift), and my wife and I kept sliding off the bed throughout the night...next morning...storage, and back with the cotton sheets...:)

Apparently, they become dangerous if you are wearing a similar material.

12. my wife was wearing lycra |
|
pj's, and i was wearing cotton boxers...we both experienced slipping, all over the place...:) Especially my wife...she is a tosser/turner at night, and she almost slid off the bed quite a few times.....I can't imagine wearing satin, and the jumping on a satin sheeted bed...reminds me of that old budlight commericial, where dude jumps on the satin sheets, with his satin pjs, and slids right across the bed, out the window, into a tree....:P

13. Yeah, fortunately, if you fall off this it's hardly a fall. |
|
It's kind of like a bump and then I'm on the rug. The frame is only 4" high and then I just have a 5" futon mattress and a feather bed on top of it.

14. Yup, that's how they 'getcha'. |
|
They give normal traction on skin...then they meet another piece of satin and suddenly become FRICTIONLESS.
I had a short friend with a high bed who once mixed satin sheets with satin PJs... She had put her knee on the bed to climb in, and the knee SHOT out from under her once her weight was on it.

Now that you mention the headboard thing, I'm actually pretty lucky. If I slid the other way, I could have slammed my head on the windowsill somehow.
