I have steam boiler heat. Like this. http://www.popularmechanics.com/home_improvement/home_owner_clinic/1275206.html

I've decided I'm sick of the gas "terraist" and would like to buy an electric boiler BUT I don't know who to trust. Who should I call about this that won't screw me?

1. Plus I don't even know yet if they make electric boilers....
I thought I would post here before I look cause I always end up here later. DU'ers are the smartest people in the world. Another problem.. I have an old house. My electric might not be up to code. I don't want to get my house re-wired but I REALLY hate the gas company so I'm pretty determined to do this. If I don't answer, I'm at the store.
thanx Joanne

7. Have you thought of central heat and air?
They have electric ones, and they're much less of a headache. Then you're prepared for anything.

2. L A Emmert
in town has always treated us right.

Don't know anything about electric boilers though. Not sure which would be more efficienct.

They would be happy to fix your gas leak I'm sure.

Take care.

3. The gas is more efficient
you'de just be making a bad trade, the gas company would be more than happy to come out and find your leak and probablly repair it while they're there.

4. If the gas company 'red tagged ' your system
you might be way ahead to call in a friendly plumber to evaluate the extent of the problem.

The gas company "In these here parts" can and will force an entire replacement of all your gas plumbing including removing all the old plumbing from inside walls and so on..

Be careful be cautious.
