Deal with your own problems lady. |

This post is somewhat ironic after I just posted a poll on misogyny, but I want to vent. I'm sitting in a cafe with my wireless connection and a women sits down next to me with her laptop. The internet is acting kind of funny here today and the more people that are online, the slower it goes. She starts asking me if my internet is working, complains that she's getting knocked off, sighs loudly multiple times, later asks if I'm in a "holding pattern" too and so on.
She seems nice enough but this is why non-computer professionals over 50 using the internet annoys me. They always want help and they just don't get how it works. Just hit reload and deal with it! I suggested that she could ask the manager to unplug or reboot their wireless router to see if that helped. But no, she wanted to complain to me as if I'm supposed to solve the problem for her. First, I don't work here and second, although you may have spent your entire life turning to the nearest man to deal with your problems and carry out any public confrontation for you, I'm not interested. You're a grown woman, if it bugs you then go deal with it yourself instead of pissing and moaning to me.
Now that she gave up and left, the internet is working much better. Ugh. Sorry to be such an ageist and sexist in the post but the free expression that comes with anonymity is the beauty of the internet.

2. Oh, you are just asking for it now. |

:spank:
I'm an equal opportunity misanthropist to some degree, but how would you have reacted if it was a man, the same age? A man, younger than you? A man your own age? Tsk, tsk, tsk to the strongly anti-woman state of mind you seem to be in. I don't know what else to say. What do you hate female America?

9. Oh please! The whole not asking for direction things would apply to... |
|
this situation. If there had been a man over 50 sitting in the cafe with Radical Activist, the last thing he's going to do is put himself through the spiritual depantsing of asking a man half his age (read more virile and set to replace him) for some help!

most people, when you make a couple suggestions, which I did, (try reloading, go talk to the manager) will either take the suggestions or leave you alone.
I'm actually criticizing her from a feminist position. Women should come to a sense of personal empowerment in their lives where they don't feel the need to have a man solve their problems or confront other people for them. Women who do that seriously annoy me, which is one reason I liked to date left wing activists. They usually don't have that problem.

My Mother is a strong woman who would never look to a man to deal with her problems for her.

That was the first thing I said but in a more polite way. Yet the sighs and complaints continued.

6. Probably cable broadband |
|
All the connections tie into one segment.
Possibly a DSL conenction with a big router on the cafe to divvy up the connections too.
Either way, I'm not surprised it slows down as more people get on it.
And to be relevant to the germain topic, maybe that was her weird way of making a pass?

I really don't think she was making a pass. She's old enough to be my mother, but I guess you never know.
