Wasn't tonight the finale of Deadwood? |
|
Did anyone watch this? I have faithfully watched Deadwood since the beginning and I have to say....WTF?
I don't understand the ending of this show. Or maybe I just don't see the significance of the ending.
Are there any Deadwood watchers who liked tonight's show?

1. Face it. It is not a very good show. |
|
Slow moving, uneventful, and boring.

2. I admit that is true this season... |
|
but I still loved it. Ian McShane is awesome. I guess I was waiting for a big finale and I feel very let down.

6. Ian McShane's the best... |
|
and he keeps the show from being as tedious as it might become. I think it was a lame season finale because no one knew if contracts would be renewed and they really didn't know what to do with the last episode. Season 4 is in the works, so I hope it resolves what was left undone this season.

3. I'll be watching it in a few |
|
and I'd watch faithfully next season. Is there a next season. The dialog is why I watch.

Parts of it were tense, especially when Mrs. Ellsworth had to sell her claim to Hearst and when Swearengen ordered one of the girls killed in place of Trixie. However, the rest of the show was just sort of bland. There is a season 4 in the works, but who knows if they'll ever resolve anything? :eyes: A good cliffhanger would have made things more interesting.

7. I heard that this was the final season.... |
|
I am hoping that there is a season 4 to help tie up the loose ends. Like....
Are they really going to let Hearst leave Deadwood like that? No ramifications to his madness? (Gerald McRainey is in a new series for whatever that is worth.)
Are Bullock and Mrs. Ellsworth ever going to be together? I thought that when the boy died last season that would end his commitment to his dead brother's wife. Guess not?
What is up with Cy? Why did he kill the junkie? I never could figure out this character.
The theater performers, what exactly was their purpose to the show?
Too many loose ends. I'm going to really miss Al Swearengen and his motherfu#%ing ways!

8. Its not the end of the show |
|
word is there will not be a traditional next season, but they plan on making 2 2-hour movies to finish the show. At least its not going the way of Carnivale!
And yes, while I was somewhat dissapointed that we didn't get to see full-scale war break out, I thought the episode was extremely tense and left alot to be resolved in the movies. I hope they don't make us wait too long for them.

9. I am already having Deadwood withdrawals |
|
It's the first HBO series we've really gotten into. To a point where if we travel we make sure our motel has HBO if we are to be gone Sunday nights. Watching the final episode was like watching a funeral for someone who wasn't supposed to die and wasn't aware they were dead. The entire Season 3 was filmed before the decision by HBO to cancel the show, and David Milch had originally planned to stretch the story over 4 seasons. There was more story to be told, dammit. So many loose ends. I feel my time was wasted by the Langrishe plotline- among others. The DVD sets will just have to carry me. I've been depressed all week. Sad to have a c*cksvcking cable tv series affect me so!
