The black-hole vortex in Wheeling, WV
Some scientist type should look into this phenomenon. The weather radar shows some big orange mass of rain heading across Ohio and we get all excited because we actually need some rain over here in western Pennsylvania. Then it happens--the big glob of rain evaporates over Wheeling. Happens all the time. I'm sure it's some kind of space-time vortex thing and that somewhere they're wondering where all that rain came from.

2. That's ok - I swear that
the part of Annapolis I live in, called the Annapolis Neck, has it's own weather patterns and that Forest Drive swallows rain clouds too. It can be raining on Forest Drive, the one road in and out of the Neck, but let me turn down off Forest to get to my community and it almost invariably is not raining at my house, which is less than half a mile off Forest as the crow flies. Last night, for example, about 2 am my crazy greyhound bitch howled to go out. So I opened the back door and let her out. The younger whippet decided to join her in a friendly game of "run like hell in the darkness" so I stepped out on the deck to call them back in. It was mizzling rain. When I got up at 6 to go to work there was not even a hint of dampness at the house, but puddles up on Forest. It's rather distressing.
