I will not be able to get on-line again, perhaps for a infinitely long time. This is not a choice of mine. as W.C. Fields once, said (on his tombstone), "All in all, I'd rather be in Philadelphia". I think he had the right idea. I am in the hospital, for only the second major surgery of my life, but this one isn't a tonsillectomy. Tomorrow afternoon, I be having a neurosurgical procedure to remove, or at least reduce the size of what appears to be a metastatic lesion in the posterior fossa. It has exerted eough pressure on the cerebelum that I have intractable dizziness and nausea for about 7 weeks, which no medication we tried would relieve. Everyone thought that it was simply a prostate infection, and treated it as such. Unfortunately, such was not the case. I have two lesions in the brain, and what appear to 4 lesions in the left lung, so the probability of lung primary/ brain mets is very high.
I just wanted to take this time, very quickly, and tell all of you that I have greatly enjoyed our time together. We all seemed to find some modicum of comfort here, and we all filled a needed niche. Based on the manner in which you have communicated this, you don't sound horribly hopeful about this and I can't tell if that is the medical condition talking, the info you've gotten from your treaters or if you are afraid.

When I needed you, you were there. If I can be there for you, please drop me a note. I don't want to impose if you aren't up for talking, but if you are I am here.

Just know, I will be praying a lot harder tonight than I think I have in a long time. I totally love and appreciate you. I am so sorry that this is your condition right now.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all your wonderful messages, and I humbly thank you. I am no longer in ICU, and am feeling stronger everyday. We still don't really have a plan for chemo/radation/further surgery, though don't think there is anything to be ganed from it. I wll write more later n the week, but am still fairly weak, so take things pretty easy. The surgery was completely successful, as far as getting the lesion off of the cerebellum, thus the severe nausea and dizzniess I was experiencing have decreased quite a bt. I am able to ambulate, though in a limited manner and am eating normally. Everyone here has been super. You are, though a vrtual communty, the warmest community I have ever been so privileged to be associated with. God bless all of you. Nick
