What books do you read every year |
|
Inspired by the several responses in the library threads where people said the re-read certian books annually.
For me it is Issac Asimov's Robot/Empire/Foundation series (takes a while :) )
Iliad and the Odyssey
LoTR
And I think I'm going to add "A People's History of the United states" by Zinn

One or more of Jean M. Auel's Earth's Children series
And don't hit me but, Flowers in the Attic
Those are all I can think of at the moment.

2. I could think of 15 thousand better ways to kill my time. |

Reading the same book every year.. No fucking thanks. I'm a drunk and my memory isn't that shitty.
Now, Slick Rick, I could listen to that all day.

5. HmmmMMMmmmMMmmmm I don't really re-read things. |
|
I have strange memory - I remember well what I read, so I don't really read.
That and the books I read generally are textbooks, and all the fun is learning new things. :)

I remember the stories well enough. But a classic story can bring new insights and new ideas to the reader as the reader grows and changes through increasing experience.
Each time I read LoTR or the Foundation stories I see new things in new perspectives.
