14 Pound Baby Born In Brazil
<snip>

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- All of her children were big at birth. But for one Brazilian woman, the daughter born Sunday takes the prize.

Hospital officials said the girl tipped the scales at 14 pounds when delivered by Caesarean section.

She was more than 23 inches long, which leaves her feet reaching over the edge of the crib.

The baby is fine and is expected to go home Friday to meet her three big brothers -- each of whom weighed more than 9 pounds when born.

But as big as she is, this isn't the biggest they come in Brazil. The record was set last year with a 16-pound, 11-ounce baby.

And the Guinness Book of World Records lists the heaviest baby born to a healthy mother as a boy who clocked in at 22 pounds, 8 ounces. He was born in Italy in 1955.
