Do you think of us at all? We think of American alot here. But that's usually the case when one sleeps with a giant. But seriously, what do think of us?

3. You guys make some great beer. Hash is (was?) easier to find
in Canada than weed.

Canadians love their hockey.

You spell "color" and "labor" incorrectly.

Canadians are good people.

Coulour, labour, rationalise, i could go on forever. I don't speak American. I speak English and French.

5. You might sleep with a giant
but you always get to be on top.

I tend to like Canadians. I have some of the American and some of the Commonwealth background in common, and that maybe enhances an affinity. And it's not a paradise, but what little I have seen of it (I'll have to fix that) I have liked very much. In saying that, I recognize that the terrain, the people, and everything else are all quite diverse and that there is no monolithic Canada just as there is no single USA.

9. I love Canadians.
I've been making a real effort to learn more about Canadian politics as well.

Canadians tend to be more aware of the world around them than USAers, and less violent as a whole. They tend to not choose their leaders based upon who they'd rather have a beer with (Mel Lastman aside, even though Mel's tropical shirts with the chest hair showing always cracked me up).

I ain't drinking milk out of a bag, however.

25. Speaking of "eh":
I know that many USAers like to latch on to that in order to poke fun at our neighbo(U)rs, but I find "eh" to be endearing and provoking of further conversation. It mostly means "wouldn't you agree?" or maybe "What are your thoughts on this?"

Example:

"Kenny G sucks the shit out of a dog's asshole." I have made a decisive statement that indicates that no argument will be tolerated, thus ending the conversation.

vs.

"Kenny G sucks the shit out of a dog's asshole, eh? (don't ya think? wouldn't you agree?) Here, I have left the subject open for further discussion.

14. We don't.
Honestly. I am just speaking the truth.

I do perhaps more than most because I lived in the UK for a while and am aware of the Commonwealth, the English diaspora in general, and Canadians abroad being fed up with people assuming they are American. I often think, if it wasn't for the weather, Canada would be my ideal country.

15. I think Canada's the wiser, cooler sibling of the US.
The US is the fuckup sibling who's always getting itself into trouble and calling Mom for bail money. Canadians have socialized medicine, more laws that MAKE SENSE, nice people, and cleaner surroundings. :hi:

17. Canada keeps us sane
My partner and I have spent a lot of time in Canada over the past couple of years, mainly in Vancouver. We love it there, although we know that it is not necessarily representative of some other parts of the country.

We’ve talked about trying to immigrate if the US continues on its downward spiral into Fascism. But even if we don’t, we are glad you are there. While Canada is not perfect, it is for us a refuge from all the weirdness going on down here.

And thank you for the Canadian Mounted Police.

And thank you for being a good neighbor, and a loyal friend.

And thank you for putting up with us.

For the Maple Leaf,

and for Anne of Green Gables,

And, lest I forget, for Labatt Blue.

Not far from you up here on Lake Erie, we see your tourists frequently, your coins, too.

Love visiting your country, its nice and very clean.

I also remember how helpful and fast your Air Force was on 9-11 - a good example of trust and friendship. I later felt very ashamed when Bush insulted you for not supporting his illegal invasion of Iraq. Sorry about that.

For many reasons.

Vancouver, BC is my favorite city, and I used to love camping in Ontario.

And THIS makes me like Canada even more:
