I owe a thank-you to ZombyWoof for his recent Van Morrison thread |
|
on DU.
Thanks to that thread, I've had "Tupelo Honey" playing in my head.
Great song. Great thread.

4. Hey there, Heidi. It's a great thread and Morrison is a cosmic talent. |
|
I don't just like Morrison. I REQUIRE him. Just a long, long list of slendid music he's given us.

6. "Into the Mystic" was one of the first Morrison songs I ever heard. |
|
Those are some of the tastiest sax arrangements ever, on top of everything else that's perfect.

8. ! With an artist like Morrison, you're allowed no more than 370 favorites |
|
and that's the absolute limit.

Huh? :D
Just for brevity's sake, 10 more:
"Listen To The Lion" "Big Time Operators" "Cypress Avenue" "In The Garden" "Spanish Steps" "And It Stoned Me" "I've Been Working" "Tore Down A La Rimbaud" "Bright Side of The Road" "Astral Weeks"

2. You're welcome, Old Crusoe! |
|
That is indeed a beautifully crafted collection of songs. He was in peak form during that era - although it's safe to say he has never strayed far from the summit - and Tupelo Honey is as sweet as its namesake. :toast:
The wild night is calling!
