6. More boy names, please
I've got to figure one out by Christmas and I'm honestly just not the least bit interested. I had girl names picked (have for years!), but I'm being lazy with boy names.

And I really like Adrian, as I love Entourage. It's piqued my interest.

13. Absolutely not!
The practice of naming ones' son after oneself seems megalomanic to me. Anyway, that habit in Britain is traditionally confined to the monarchy. As far as I know, it is only in America where ordinary people have taken to the practice.

15. You know what mine was.
The second choice was Flannery.

For a boy I wanted Edward or Henry. Idiot wanted to name HIS son Duncan McCloud. (Yep, he was a big Highlander fan.)

16. Duncan alone is OK
but Duncan McCloud??? Lucky, you had a girl.

Flannery reminds me too much of flammerie, which is a kind of a pudding here in Europe.

17. But it was after Flannery O'Connor.
She might have been made fun of as a child but by high school-the lit teachers would have adored her.

And D_ never had a choice in the name. He left way too early.

38. I love the name Claire
Also Kate.

For boys, I like Jon, Eric and Alex. I like names that you can't automatically get a nickname from. I hate it when people shorten or change someone's name (unless the person wants that, of course).

45. I like
Natalie, Michelle, and Leora for girls. For boys, I'm fairly indifferent; I like most of the traditional boys' names equally, and I generally like the traditional and fairly common names more than the unusual or trendy ones. Boys just seem kind of boring to pick names for, but maybe it's just my boring taste in boys' names!
