Pool for tonight's Real Time Bill Maher - Penn Jillette's shoutdown count!
Edited on Fri Sep-01-06 07:16 PM by FormerRushFan
Assuming that Penn Jillette will be on the "panel" how many times will he shout down or interrupt another panelist?

I think we're going to need one of those supermarket counters... (do they still make those things?)

(I really don't like Penn Jillette)

1. Ugh. I despise Penn Jillette.
Sorry if I'm crapping on your thread, but I loathe that guy. :puke:

2. Oh No! I must have given you the wrong impression!
Loathe - a good word for how I feel about him...

He's ignorant and crude, so I'm expecting much shouting down on his part...

3. Oh good! I'm glad I didn 't offend.
I'm also glad to have a kindred spirit in the Jillette-loathing crowd. :pals:

4. I've met Penn
One-on-one in conversation, he's very polite and soft-spoken. Why he must make himself an asshole in other contexts is one of those things for which I have no quick fix answers. Showbiz extroversion, or perhaps group dynamics...

I am not defending him - just noting how widely different his public persona is from his private one.

For the record, Teller was also very nice and personable. Maybe he should talk and Penn should stay quiet. :D

6. Isn't that interesting?
I'm glad you told me that, I always like getting the inside scoop on people. Hmm...why would he be such a jerk in his public persona? Perhaps to overcompensate for Teller being quiet?

How's tricks, Zomby? :hi:

7. It could have been a fluke, lol
For the most part, he is overbearing, so I understand perfectly where the OP is coming from. :-)

Silly Bunny, tricks are for Zombys! ;-) :hi:

9. I've met Penn as well - had dinner with him
So has ginbarn. Everything ZombyWoof says about him is true. Penn has a "cuddly" side, but it takes a little searching to find it.

5. I really like Penn.
He's loud and more than a little obnoxious, but I like him nonetheless. He's a pretty smart guy.

8. Penn Jillette: the world's most ironic bullshit peddler
Edited on Fri Sep-01-06 08:20 PM by Benfea
On occasion he will say things from an atheist perspective (usually defending atheists from the frothing hordes of Christian fundamentalists) that I very much agree with, but any time he gets anywhere near politics I have to change the channel to avoid throwing up.

10. Reply to my own message.
re: last night's "Real Time" show - I would like to thank Penn Jillette for not living up to my negative expectations and he was quite entertaining while holding his own.
