2. Nanci has been one of my favorites for a long time. |
|
Believe it or not, seeing this video might be the first time I have ever heard Townes sing.
I've heard about him a lot, but I feel stupid for not having ever sought out his music. I guess I could blame that on the sorry state of the music business here in the USA.
They did the song beautifully didn't they?

I agree completely. Including the part about the fiddle and the tears.

7. We saw her last year at a Sebastapol High School. |
|
My husband turned me on to her. He absolutely loves her. So last year when I heard on the radio that she was playing somewhat locally, I bought 2 tickets. I picked my husband up from work and did not tell him where we were going.
After driving almost 400 miles we checked into our hotel room. Then we went and had dinner. At this point he still did not know what we were doing. The only hint I gave him was that what we were going to do was sure to make him cry.
Then we drove to the small school. He was still clueless. Not until we got to the will-call table and had the tickets in hand did he see what we were about to do. He couldn't believe it.
The theatre was small and we sat in the balcony. It was a great show! He shed a tear or two, while I had almost a constant stream falling down my cheek.
Mary Goshey (pronunciation not actual spelling) also played that night and she was great as well. We bought her cd and had it signed.
I would drive another 400 miles to see her again.

8. The greatest song hook ever written..... |
|
is contained IMO in Griffith's song "Listen to the Radio".
Greatest "car song" ever written IMO: Ford Econoline.
