I either don't want to walk on the street anymore, or I want to get hit so that next time I can get paid (and I'm imagining all horrible ways to get hit now). I'm all mixed up, man. I'm trying to do things to not think about it, but it eventually stops working. This kid is out on the street, and nobody has taught him how to drive around pedestrians. I was the tough guy. Actually, I just got out of the movie "Crank" about a guy who can't stop moving because the adrenaline is the only thing that's keeping him alive. When I got hit, it was like the movie was still happening.

I keep thinking what would I do if I was with a family member and they got hit instead of me.

Incidentally, I wasn't walking "across the street". I was in a parking lot.
