Okay. I can't move my eyebrows. It's really, really wierd. |
|
I've been doing botox in my forehead for about 4 years now. I'm closer to 50 than 40 and aside from the two (formerly) deep verticle wrinkles between my eyebrows, my face is wrinkle and blemish-free, and I'm in excellent shape. I'm kind of hot... no sagging, no jowls, no fatty deposits. I have a really beautiful face, so the wrinkles were a major visual flaw. I did the research, could find no fault or problems with botox and went for it and have achieved the best possible results.
So I moved to a new city just over a year ago and I don't go to specialists unless I get a real recommendation. It took a year to find a doc that basically was good enough, but I finally found one.
Great guy, love him, I expect he'll make a lot of money off me in the next 30 years, lol.
So it's been a year since I had the botox and the wrinkles were really back, especially because I'm having trouble seeing, so I'm squinting more, for sure.
So his technique is different than what I knew from in Los Angeles, he did 10 injections with several right up close to the hair line. And. I. Cannot. Move. My. Eyebrows. It's the funniest and strangest sensation and ya know what? The wrinkles have decreased by at least 70%. I expect they'll be totally gone in another week.
But I can't do my quizzical look anymore and... I miss it!!!!! No more raised eyebrow!!
BUT one real bang up side affect that I love is that my chronic headaches are magically gone again... I was cranking up close to 1500 mgs of ibuprofin a day... now they're gone, yay! So, I just thought I'd share.
Stories? Tall tales? Gossip, rumors, questions?

1. Interesting about the headaches. I have no knowledge of botox, but it |
|
seems strange seeing "I did the research, could find no fault or problems with botox" while thinking about someone having poison injected so close to their brain :)

3. luckily that pesky little skull of mine gets in the way. |
|
I did the research.. and came across so few side affects it is worth the risk, since the improvements are so great with such little effort.
Risk vs reward....

2. I've never done botox but my youngest sister has |
|
and she loves it! I think she can still move her eyebrows. For future reference, does it hurt when they inject the stuff?

4. yes each injection hurts.. but each one takes only a couple seconds |
|
and then it's dabbed and he moves on the next one. It's no different than getting a shot of any other sort. I used to have a serious fear of needles until I was pregnant with my daughter and it seems like they were drawing blood every other week, so I got over than in a big hurry.

really it was giving birth that made the fear of needles disappear. After you go through labor, nothing ever hurts too badly again.
