Last week I told you guys we planned to trap El Gato on Saturday. We did it and he freaked so badly in the cage that he scraped up his nose and eye. :(
When the doc put the cage in the car, he looked up at me like, "How COULD you?" I'll never be able to shake that.
However, he's been neutered, chipped, had his shots, antibiotics, dewormed and he's in a temporary cage at my folks' house. They've had 26 ferals in their neighborhood spayed and neutered.
Once El Gato (now McDonald) knows where he lives, they'll release him. Hopefully mom can last for two weeks. It would be horrible if he tried to make it back here. I missed seeing his pretty face this morning when I usually fed him. :(
But, it's much better for him. I have to remember that.

He keeps knocking over his food and water so mom isn't sure if/how much he's eating. He did meow for the first time ever. She sits on the porch and talks to him every day.
When he was put under anesthesia (he's only 5 months old) it took two shots and gas! He's as hard to put under as I am! I usually try to strangle the anesthesiologist. :) He's quite strong.
The doc is going to go over today and clean the cage for mom. She's done it about half way, but she's afraid he'll escape. The doc can do it and she's happy to do it.
I still miss him though. I assure you - others will come around.
