"Thought Police" Car Impounded
Edited on Wed Sep-06-06 08:28 AM by haruka3_2000
Anyway, so this was in the Morris County section of The Star Ledger (NJ's state paper) and I just think this guy is fucking awesome. For those not from this area, Mountain Lakes a town next to mine that is really, really rich and filled with an amazing quantity of tools & asshats, especially the police dept.

'Thought Police' car is impounded
Mountain Lakes: Police impounded Fred Kanter's "Thought Police" car over the weekend, police and Kanter himself said.

For the last week or so, Mountain Lakes' perennial gadfly has parked a Ford Crown Victoria on the Boulevard. The car has been painted to look like a police car, but across the side it reads, "Thought Police" and "Mountain Flakes."

Elsewhere, it bears the slogans "to serve and protest," and "mind control division."

Kanter has been arrested twice in the last year for disrupting meetings of the local zoning board and borough council. In April, he was charged with harassment for parking a beat-up 1978 Lincoln Continental twice in front of Mayor Stephen Shaw's home. He says the town is denying him his rights to free speech.

Kanter said he would fight the charges in municipal court later this month.

Honestly, I just think this is funny as all fucking hell. I'm just disappointed I didn't know that car was parked on the Boulevard, because I would have totally been down there taking pictures. I also want to know just how exactly parking a beat up car in front of the mayor's mansion is harassment, even if owning a beater car is probably the worst crime in Mountain Lakes.

1. If he's really the Thought Police, he should have known this would happen.
 The mayor just thought the beater car was icky, and they probably have an icky ordinance there. :P

2. I'm pretty sure they have an icky ordinance there.
It's probably even in the lawbooks as "the icky ordinance."

The funny thing about that town is almost all the women seem like they should be lesbians. It's like they're all buff lesbian housewives with rich Republican husbands. Several of my friends have also noticed this phenomenon.

3. I guess they have to do something to keep their minds off the fact
that they're married to Repukes. I'll bet it's a secret lesbian conspiracy to take the Repukes in that town for all they're worth. :D Pretty smart. It'd work well, too, 'cause who wants to have sex with Repukes anyway? :puke: Marry 'em knowing they'll never be able to perform, take them for all they're worth, and divorce 'em. Pretty sound fiscal policy if you ask me.

4. Yeah, I should try that.
I always just take their buisiness cards and make fun of them afterwards.

5. You need some financial compensation from having to suffer through the
ickiness. You might consider that next time! :P

6. Many places have laws about making a car look like a cop car
I think our local "Geek Squad" gets away with because they are all little VW bugs.

7. Yeah, I figured it'd be against the law, but I still think this guy's idea
is pretty funny. However, :wtf: is up with getting charged with harassment for parking a beater car in front of the mayor's house? However, as I decided with NWC1981 above, this town probably actually has an "anti-icky ordinance."
