34. WOW! Notorious Cally-P is in the hizzouse makin' with the F-bombs!

OK, for starters, that's a photo I took in my backyard
of a wild strawberry. It was about 3/8ths of an inch
in diameter, and it's one of my fave personal photos.

In light of recent events, I thought the Koan was apropo.
It's a common one; I just assumed everyone knew it already.
My bad.

It is:
A man was climbing a narrow path which zig-zagged its
way up a nearly vertical mountainside. Hearing a noise,
he looked back and saw a very HUNGRY looking tiger sneaking
up behind him.

He couldn't OUTRUN the tiger, he couldn't FIGHT the tiger...
so he dropped his backpack, slung a leg over the
edge, and began climbing down the sheer cliff face
to the path 100 feet below.

Halfway down, he glanced beneath him, and observed a SECOND
hungry tiger seated on the lower path, watching him intently
and licking its chops in anticipation.

Looking up again, he saw the first tiger peering down;
glancing down, he saw the second tiger looking up.

As he hung by his fingertips from the cliff face,
pondering the soon-to-be inevitable, he looked to one side.
And there, growing from a small crack in the bare stone,
was a single strawberry.

With the last of his failing strength, he reached out
and plucked it.

It tasted so sweet.

CP and I go way back. We were in a Euro-synth-pop band together called "Kudzu" until we split in 1981. We couldn't be bothered to learn how to play the synthesizer and our first release "We wish Hinckley hadn't missed" was refused to be given airplay on US radio stations. Or I might have dreamt that, I don't recall.
