My boss has been making me nuts lately. And not just me. He's hired two Twinkies...one that's worthless and one that has potential. And there's someone from last spring who's definitely got potential (he didn't hire that one, though...she came right before him).

He's managed to piss me off (little man wants to be a big man but knows he's a little man) but I ain't goin' nowhere. I'll outlast him if it's the last thing I do. He's managed to piss off the one with potential that he didn't hire and now she's taken a second part-time job and wants to work less. And the brand-new Twinkie with potential he pissed off last night. And she just fuckin' quit because of it.

Which leaves me with Worthless Twinkie-by-Designation. This is a woman who, I kid you not, brought me a summary last night and asked, "Up here at the top. Where it says Widefield 7 and Mitchell 0...is that the score? Is that what we put in 'winner' and 'loser'?"

I'm. Going. To. Scream. Now.

Sorry...I just got an e-mail saying she'd quit. I knew she was upset last night but I thought I'd talked her down. I think that she must've called and he bitched her out again. For cryin' out loud...she's brand new and he gives her stats and standings to do and then doesn't tell her HOW to do 'em ('cause he's not too sure about the coding himself) and then gets mad at her because she doesn't get 'em done quickly enough for him.

But Worthless Twinkie? He's holding her fuckin' hand every step of the way and he Never yells at her and guess who has to come behind her and clean up her shit?

I swear...one of these days the news side ain't gonna have to go far for their centerpiece. "Homicidal Employee Wreaks Havoc" "Newsroom makes news".

my wife is in a similiar situation at work, except its the opposite. She has been in her position for a year and a half, and the guy she butts heads with has been there for 7 yrs...yet he doesnt' know anything, doesn't know how to work excell, power point, can't talk/present, can't use power point, lies to everyone, and kisses rear end....my wife and a few other's are trying to sink him, and I know they will succeed...this guy is a total kiss ass, and thats the only reason why he has a job...they pay him damn near 60,000 a year, for nothing....

Been there, done that. I got tired of being screamed and cursed at...just lay in wait, honey. I waited long enough for my personal nightmare to drop a piece of damaging info...I decided not to act on it then, but to wait until the next time he got in my face and screamed at me again. That happened about three months later. (Ironically, that time when he got in my face and used the B word at me, a male co-worker was standing behind me and just freaking exploded on him. I have never heard the f-word used so many times in such a short period time, lol. And it was amazing to see him back down so fast after screaming at me because Gary was about half a foot taller than him.) Anyway, I went to personnel the next day with my ace in the hole, they did an investigation and he was fired a week later. I felt bad he lost his job, but there is only so much a person can take.

Sorry you have to work in that mess. In that old job I talked about they relocated my full time coworker to another dept and made me train temps who quit every few days. One that finally stayed had a bad crack habit and was jumpier than hell, and they made me train him to drive a stand-up lift. He scrapped 1000's of dollars worth of parts...it was crazy. Ah, those were the days.

I can empathize. Sorry it's so tough tonight, hope it gets better, soon.
