Some fucking asshole shot the crane that lived by my pond.

Everyday I go out to the pond behind my house to feed the catfish that live in there. For about the past two years every day I went out there I have seen this big beautiful crane fishing for smaller fish to eat. The crane had gotten so used to me that it would sometimes get within feet of me while it was feeding. Today though, I went out to the pond only to find my crane friend floating dead in the pond. I looked at its body and could see that it has a wound on its back. I fished it out of the pond with a rake and I could tell that someone has shot it in the back - probably while it was feeding- and left it to die.

Why are people such fucking assholes? This bird wasn't hurting anyone and someone just though it would be fun to kill it. I just don't get it.

those guys IME, don't usuallys see much action, so when they get a call they are all gung ho about it, and my run ins with them...geesh, they really really take them job seriously, so if you want something down, I recommend calling the fish/game wildlife cops....:)

This is the post I meant to reply to, instead of the other DUer's goof post in which he makes light of it.

I'm so sorry. Maybe some people think this is a joke but where I live a similar thing happened, so I know it really sucks. We had a family of wild pigs here for years. It was a tight knit family of javelina and I used to feed and water them, cut up apples for them. They are so beautiful and it is hard to get them to trust you. Then some sick asshole shot them with a bow and arrow last year. It was just horrible. It makes no sense. Eckhart Tolle wrote that human beings are dangerously insane and deeply sick, the only species that destroys its own habitat and laughs about it. I'm beginning to agree with him.
