I feel so old, my daughter is going to her first school dance tonight.

10. I hope she has a great time

but both of my kids had some traumas at that one. Well, the youngest shouted across the room that she didn't want to dance with that guy in the poor boys hearing. There was much leading up to that one and the guy contributed to making it a public confrontation. I had to learn to talk about, I don't know what but it wasn't comfortable for either of us.

Then, my oldest. Well, I had to go in and sign her in and sign some contract saying that I would pick her up. Well, she walks into the house an hour later. She got uncomfortable and bailed out. I thought about calling the school, I did lecture her about following school rules, but I decided I would create more problems if I called the school and told them their carefully constructed security measures had totally failed. A few hours later, I got many panicked phone calls. They had realized they had lost my daughter. I should have called when she first walked in the door. Well, my brilliant daughter had watched the supervisors and figured out how to leave without notice. Another trip to school on my part.

11. You get to start seeing the results of how you've raised her.

Whether or not you've given her opportunities that let her participate in her growth or had her just following your directions will, more or less, determine how she plays her hands from now on. I suspect you already know this though. Warm regards. :donut: :donut: :hi:
