Bank of America DEBITS my account for DEPOSITS!
I deposited almost $8000 into my checking account on Friday. Some of the checks were from Banks other than Bank of America and Bank of America put a hold on these checks. However, they also didn't credit my account for the checks that weren't supposed to be held (which were drawn on a different B of A account than mine), AND they DEBITED my account for the checks that were on hold for deposit! A-fucking-amazing!

Any lawyers out there?

1. I dumped them bastards...
They are the worst. They have quite a rep for fuck ups. And when San Francisco passed a law (or something, it's been a while) against double charging for ATM fees they sued SF. I never forgot or forgave them that.

Go to another bank or credit union. Washington Mutual is better.

2. Credit union!
B of A is the worst-run bank I've ever had the mispleasure of encountering, Wells Fargo was close. I actually *like* my credit union!

3. Can you believe Walmart is getting into the bank business?
Until then, BofA is the worst. But the thing I've learned is to never, never let a bank off the hook. They depend upon people buying their excuses or not bothering to dispute incorrect charges.

You might want to try your state's volunteer lawyer program, if one exists. Or a law school clinic. However, with $8000 in deposits, you might not qualify under the income guidelines.

4. Ditch 'em, move to Washington Mutual.
WaMu is the best bank I've ever had.

5. Scumbags. Banks are almost as bad as insurance companies.

6. Any Midfirsts in your area?
They rock! I've had them for over a year now, and I've even had my debit card number stolen. I didn't lose a dime. They are amazing.
