So I finally saw The Descent....HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!! |
|
Scariest and goriest movie of the year! Saw III could not possibly be as absolutely conducive to pants-shitting terror as this film. It mixes jump scares with close-in spaces, fucking freaky-looking monsters, and unrelenting violence and terror to scare you senseless.
I spent a good 20 minutes of the film with my eyes closed. When I saw Silent Hill, it was 5 minutes. When I saw Dog Soldiers, which has the same director as The Descent, there was no eyes-closed time at all.
It was a good movie plot-wise, but unless you are completely and utterly immune to movie-inspired fear, DON'T WATCH IT!

11. Look like him, move like him, probably inspired by him to some degree. |
|
Spoiler: And they're better at going for the throat than he is.

7. Okay, is it just really gory, or ACTUALLY creepy/scary? |
|
Gore doesn't faze me at all and actually makes me bored. Was there any tantalizing psychological super-freaky creepiness that had you biting your nails? Or was it just a blood-fest?

Marshall ratchets up the tension steadily, and when the first attack came, nearly the whole theater screamed or swore.
No punches pulled on the gore, though.

8. I agree with you. Descent is one of the better horror movies I've |
|
seen lately. Very well made.

I haven't seen a truly scary movie in so long. I'll have to check that one out.

13. I used to watch that kind of stuff |
|
For some reason as I've gotten older I can't anymore. I think I would enjoy it more if it's camp or has some kind of sick humor to it.
