Post Your Dog Photos!
No, I haven't lost my mind. But I spent today in the company of horses and dogs,* and got some great photos. Here are the horses, and here are the dogs:

Missy is a 6-month-old shepherd (Australian?). She'll be a cattle cutter, along w/ her horses.

I don't know what Cassie is, except very sweet.

Post your dog photos!

* Some cats were there, too: Black Kitty, Tigger, Tulsa, and CC (who is blind). Can you believe I did not photograph any cats? :yoiks:

21. I spent so much time in that hammock that he decided to try it out.
He was a very silly woobie. He wanted to do everything with me. I can remember picking him up to hold on my lap for the return trip on an ATV because he was young and tired out from the running with me. I didn't mind that he thought he was a lap dog even when he was an adult of 125 pounds.

Leigh couldn't have been more than 2 months old when that photo was taken during the summer of 1996.

I can't have dogs at my apartment but I'm pretty close to my mom and sister's gang of dogdom.

Here's Rio, who is secretly my fave. She has a peculiar sense of time and space and moves kinda like a horse.

This is my sister's Mayzie, probably last winter at my mom's farm. Don't let the sweet face fool ya .... she rules over all of us.

"You, squirrel, time to do my bidding...."

This is Celcius, adorable and a little ditzy but sweet as can be.

And Pringles, who is shy but really the most level-headed of the whole gang.

And that's about half the whole bunch. Quite a crew.

she also has hip dysplasia, but she is a total sweetie. When she was living here she was always trying to herd the cats!

Cody looks like he was wonderful!! I don't know what it is about that breed, but I just love them.

32. Cody used to herd the dogs at the dog park. We quit taking him
because it wasn't fun for him. He would also heard the dog's "people" into groups and then run around them to keep them there.

He had back problems and eventually could not stand up on his own. It was rather sudden -- we had expected to have him around a couple of more years. He was 11 and a half.

My wife and I got Cody before we were married -- he was our first "baby". My wife always said he was "my dog" because he was very attached to me and followed me everywhere. I love this breed, also but will probably never have another. They need a lot of exercise and since we have two kids now, it wouldn't be fair to the dog.

Border Collies are an amazing breed, though -- my favorite, for sure.

Something funny about border collies (as well as other dogs) they suffer from seperation anxiety. But daisy is funny, a total stranger can come by...visit for awhile...and she'll cry when they leave. It's so cute.

56. Cody loved people -- once they were in our house and he knew
that they were "ok", he was their "pal for life."

If he wasn't sure about you -- you were not getting in the house. He had a HUGE bark and was a big boy.

We were worried about separation anxiety when we first got Cody. He was 5 years old when we adopted him. One day we left the house for an hour to see how he would do. When we got back, he was still laying in the same place as when we left. He never had problems with separation.

Man, I really miss him.

This is Babe.

And this is Jessie.

We got them because someone had dumped them out here in our rural area (not at the same time, about 4 years apart.)

Yesterday, I was sitting out on the front steps and Jessie was laying in the grass about 12 feet away chewing on something. I asked her what she had and she lifted her head. I said, "Let me see." So she got up and walked over to me with it. I said, "Okay." and she turned around and walked back with it to where she was.

38. Here are my dogs, both of which have passed on...
This is Jaycee, a pit bull shepherd mix. She was abused and living on the streets before my dad hit her with his car (she was fine) and took her in. Actually, he first gave her to a friend who owned a bar, so she could be a guard dog when the bar was closed (nasty neighborhood) but it turns out she was sick with parve and the guy gave her back to my dad. Much money and many miracles later, she survived and came to live with us. She was the sweetest, best behaved dog ever. We didn't even leash her, because she was so well-behaved and she loved dogs, cats, children, but she would have gladly ripped the face off of anyone who tried to hurt her family.

This is Cheyenne. She was unfortunately aggressively overprotective, but we loved her anyway. She also loved to be a mommy. Even though she was never bred, she liked to adopt new kittens as her puppies and she would lovingly carry them around by their scruff until they got too big and would discipline them when they got out of line (knock them over and gently nip them). This resulted in us having two cats which act like minature dogs, due to having a German Shepherd adopt them at around 8 weeks.
