We turned the heat on today |
|
Maybe we are weaklings, but it is cold. Yesterday, I wore a bath robe over my sweater and jeans most of the day. It was a little warmer today outside but continued to get colder in the house. I think that shorts weather might be over for the season. We'll have to hurry and clean out the garage (from moving this summer) so we can get the cars in before it frosts.

we have had fall weather the past whole week and then some...temps in the 80's during the day, and at night its been in the upper 50's, lower 60's. I think fall has arrived early this year, and I'm thankful. The month of may/june/july were pretty damn hot for me, so I'm glad that fall is here...:) I am making more wood trips lately too, because of the cooler temps, I have a feeling it might be a rough winter so I want to be a good little grasshopper and collect enough wood for the winter...:)

6. It was so hot only a few weeks ago |

I wish that there had been more of a transition. Our new backyard is covered in trees and we have a fireplace so we probably should take advantage. The new place that we have is bigger so I am sort of afraid of the heating bill.

We're on the east coast (Mass), not too bad yet.

7. It seems that there is such a sharp transition here |
|
I am originally from Ohio where the transition seemed a little more gradual. Most of the years that I have been here seemed to consist of only winter and summer.

9. I wish that we had shut off the AC earlier |

Perhaps, it would have kept it warm in here longer. Opening the windows at night would have probably cooled it down faster. Even not so long ago when it got warm during the day, it was cold once the sun went down. I think there is a Wisconsin law requiring that landlords provide heat by October 1st. This is the first year that I have been in Wisconsin where I didn't live in a duplex since graduating college. We were always able to get by there turning on the heat later by relying on our neighbors to turn their heat on, thus providing a warm wall and slowing our heat loss.

4. It's been fairly nice in Maine. |

It'll be quite chilly by the end of the month, though, or early October. ;)

5. I put on my slipper socks because my feet were getting cold. |

Still not quite at the point of turning on the heat, trying to hold out as long as possible. I'm in Northern Illinois and it's rainy and in the 50s right now. Ick

Just a space heater in the bathroom. I wasn't too keen on taking a shower when the air temp was only 60. It's been cold and rainy, but before the end of October there will be some spectacularly mild and beautiful fall days. But I am hoping for a November to celebrate.

10. Maybe, we live close to the same place |
|
I think that the cold rain and wind probably brought the inside air temperature down faster than if it had been nice but cool. I hope that it does get a little warmer again for a while. IT is too quick of a transition for me.

What a cold and miserable and rainy day this Sunday has been. At 6:30 it is only 55. I watched V for Vendetta from my front projector on the big screen and then watched the end of the Packer debacle. I haven't even got dress yet and by now, what is the point?
