Marilyn Monroe benefited from very charitable cinematography.
Ther, I said it.

I just watched "Some Like it Hot" (1959), which was shot when she was only 33.

Her close-ups are shot through so many filters that light barely penetrates them.

You could safely watch a total elcipse through them.

It's like looking through a jar of Vaseline.

Faye Dunaway has less filtering.

I'm nogt saying she wasn't beautiful, but she could be Jack Lemmon in drag and still look hot, with that much distortion.

2. A TV show where that was pronounced
was Moonlighting. Every time they showed Cybill Shepherd, it suddenly looked "glowing." It got to be annoying after awhile.

5. lol yeah we were also required to make sure we didn't shoot up over the
back of bruce's head either. Thinning and all.. no shoe polish could cover THAT gleam, lemme tell ya.

And the camera had to be LOW for him and HIGH for Cyb.

Ahhhh cinema secrets.

8. Until alcohol and drugs took their toll, Marilyn was beautiful.

I cried when I heard the tragic news about her death.
