Good Monday Morning, everyone. I woke up to water on the floor.
The klunker of a refrigerator with the first ice maker ever made (invented before the wheel) decided to pour water all over the kitchen floor. As far as I can tell, it didn't get to the basement. Joani and I were going to go on an adventure today ... but it looks like our adventure will be right here, at least until the fix-it man gets finished. x(

How's your morning going? :hi: :grouphug:

9. Good morning, buddhamama!
My hope actually was that the refrigerator is past repair and the owners have to buy a new one. This thing is so old and disgusting that I swore I'd never eat anything that came out of it.

I'm glad your morning is good. I hope it continues in that direction! :bounce:

We will definitely enjoy the day. There is some hope of being able to go along with our plans if the refrigerator gets done as soon as promised.

I didn't mind listening to hip hop. You're lucky I didn't want equal time for country rock tunes.

I was dreaming nicely by 11:15 last night. I seem to be right at home in Tennessee. I feel like I've come full circle and back to my roots. Now if I can talk both the men in my life into relocating it would be a wonderful thing.

Did you work last night?

If we can't go on our adventure, we'll just relax at home. Joani doesn't seem to mind that idea at all. :D

I'm an expert multi-tasker. Of course, sometimes I slip a gear and do something dumb while I'm trying to do it all at once ... like forget to turn the coffee maker to "2 cups" when I've put 2 cups of water in. That'll make a mess every time.

20. I guess I could think of it that way.
And I was doing OK until harleydad called from FL and wanted to know if the water had gone down in the basement and dripped on our new family room furniture. x( So far, it hasn't. But I'm a little nervous about it. It still could be between the floors waiting to bring the basement ceiling down. :scared:

It won't cost us a dime to fix the fridge since we're in a rental. I was hoping it was something terminal and they'd have to put in a new one that actually works the way a fridge SHOULD work. (This one freezes everything in the back and lets everything in the front spoil. There ain't much room in the middle. x( )

There's just Joani and me here now. But I'll be sure and pass a  to her!

We STILL wish you could have been here! And you would have been able to get into THIS picture, too! (NO worries ... there ain't a butt to be seen in this one. )

Thanks for sharing it. You all look so happy!

Hope the water doesn't get into your basement. That would be such a mess. Do you have any plastic to throw over your stuff . . . just in case?

I hate those life emergencies. I thought my car was fixed, but yesterday on the way to the theater, my thermostat kept jumping around. I stopped the car and wonderful vivid green fluid was dripping out of my brand new radiator. So I just quickly drove home. Got a ride into work b/c I've got a meeting that I can't miss, but must call my mechanic. I hope it's nothing too serious.

The basement is full of boxes and furniture. I don't know how I could possibly cover it all. But I'm keeping an eye on the ceiling and don't see any new wet spots (they have obviously had water leaks in this house before.) Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Oh, no! This is your $600 fix? That is downright scary! :scared: I hope it gets fixed and isn't too serious! Harleydad would know what's wrong ... but he's not here to ask. Here's an extra hug for you. I wish I could buy you a new car.

31. Oh, yes, that ...
No apology needed. And don't worry, we'll find a cute fix-it guy somewhere. It wasn't too bad after the initial shock. The property manager has a cell phone and she actually answered it when I called at 7:00AM. My biggest worry was whether I could get her to act quickly, and she has done that.

Glad you're OK. Why aren't you magnificent? (Do you need some of this fabulous coffee? :donut:)

Big plans WERE to drive to Knoxville to look at a house that has the bricks and stone that we're thinking of using. We still might do that if the other stuff gets taken care of quickly enough. Otherwise, we'll have a quiet day, maybe buy some groceries and check out the property to see if there's any action happening on the house. I live an extremely dull life, so that's as good as it gets. :D
