They're having the Freedom Walk to honor the victims of 9-11-01. It's actually pretty neat. They even had a fly-over of F-16s in the missing man formation. It was quite moving.

I'm actually pretty impressed with this one. I like the shadows.

I'm terrified of heights, but I had to lean over the balcony to get most of these pictures. I hope you enjoy!

1. Nice pictures...
I've got to go to OKC since I'm pretty close, I have never been there, and seeing a part of our history interests me. BTW, how far away is Tulsa from OKC?

2. About an hour.
The turnpike is pretty fast travelling. It costs about three bucks to get there on it, but it's worth it.

6. Very nice, Ducky.
Mrs. V. and I have been there. We have a friend who is a docent; she was across the street on 4/19/95, and almost bled to death. She caught the whole of a plate glass window. Mrs. V. knew two of the men who died there.

Thanks for posting these.

7. Feel free to save them, Bertha.
I like to share. I live across the street. I took those from my balcony. If you guys ever get back to OKC, you will have to call me. I'd love to take you guys to Bricktown for some dinner!

11. Thanks!
I'm getting back into photography again. Skip told me if I could take such great pictures dangling off an 11th story balcony shooting aimlessly, imagine what I can do when I'm meaning to do something! I don't mean to be a bragidocious, but I used to do pretty good stuff back in the day. I'm looking forward to having a hobby again.

13. Is that the memorial to the Oklahoma City bombing?
That top picture is not at all what I pictured OK looking like; the buildings seem very northeastern to me (of course, I'm just a Californian).

Nice shots - the reflecting pool through the doorway took me a while to figure out. It's a bit Escher-esque...

What did you think the buildings looked like?
Here's a shot of the view just to the right of the memorial.

Not nearly as good, but it's a good example of our buildings.

17. The office buildings are certainly what I'd expect,
and the water towers in the top picture (which I didn't notice at first) are characteristic (IMO) of the Plains and the South. It's just the steeples and the design of the brick buildings that threw me - I associate steeples with the northeast, and the brick churches I'm familiar with in the South seem to have a different architectural style...

In this picture, the tall building on the left and the one in the center both seem to have a sort of rainbow coloration - is that really there, or is it an image artifact?

Thanks for the photo-essay; I like seeing other people's landscapes...

First I've seen of the Murrah Bldg. site since 1997 when there was still chain link all around.

Thank you so much
