Little, common things you have to do that annoy you |
|
Here's mine: I love the washing part of a shower. But drying off is always a chore. It's just an uncomfortable feeling in between getting out of the shower and getting dry.

I don't really mind washing it, or hanging it, or putting it away. But folding it is pretty tedious.

27. see, I like folding laundry, but I don't like putting it away... |
|
that last step annoys me. I even kinda like ironing. The putting-away thing is probably because we're in a small house now and I have little room to put anything away 'properly'.

I fucking HATE them. I would rather run a dishwasher ten times in a row than to wash something by hand. :grr: I know why this is---my mother used to throw huge dinner parties frequently, and guess who got stuck washing every blasted dish, fork, knife, etc., by hand because we didn't have a dishwasher??? Yep, my sister and I did. Everyone else sat in the living room, laughing it up and having a good time while the galley slaves washed dishes. God forbid my brother ever helped. :eyes: My sister and I can't STAND dishes to this day.
I'd rather scrub toilets and showers all day long than to do dishes. :P

I'm not much of a housekeeper at the best of times, but the thing I hate more than anything else are dishes.
Ironically, I've gotten myself into the habit of doing them every night, come hell or high water, to the point where it's become automatic and no longer so much of a struggle - because the more they start piling up, the more horrendous the job looks to me, and the more excuses I find to put it off. I used to go for days and just rinse off the one or two items I needed at that particular moment - or, I just wouldn't eat, since eating generates dishes. Now I've even started to do them twice a day, so I'm not put off by a huge pile at the end of the day. It seems to help a bit.

10. Picking up after messy men! |
|
I've got two human males here, who are masters of disasters. Sometimes, every room in this house looks like a hand grenade went off in it.
Nagging does no good, the relief is very temporary.
Some days I just throw all their stuff on their beds and let them sort it out.
The two male kitties are the neatest guys in this household.

18. I have a real beef with this too. |
|
:grr: There are two people who live in my house---my husband and me. Our two dogs are better housekeepers than my husband ever was or is. He walks out of his clothing and just leaves it in a pile on the floor wherever he happens to step out of it. If he opens a box of cookies or something, he leaves the little cardboard tear strips all over the house in little shrapnel piles when trash cans are less than a foot away. He has boxes and boxes of doodads and scraps of stuff and wonders why he can never find anything. And if he's misplaced something, I'm supposed to be the one who knows where it is. :grr: Screw that...
I will be the first person to admit that I'm not the world's neatest person. I don't mind a LITTLE clutter here and there, but hubby's a slob of the first magnitude. :grr: I'm extremely clean, though, and his lack of attention to such things drives me up the wall.

12. groceries... it's just not easy |
|
get in the car go to the store decide what product to buy put it in the cart.
Take it out of the cart at the cash register pay for the groceries put them back IN the cart and wheel them to your car.
Put them in the trunk.
drive home, take them OUT of the trunk, into the house, out of the bags, repackage if necessary, put them in the fridge, the cupboard, the pantry etc.
THEN you have to cook!!!
I hate grocery shopping, can you tell?

Shaving is pretty annoying too, one reason I try and work from home on Fridays is that is one less day I have to shave.

I guess I would agree with that, but also getting in. You have to turn the water on, wait for it to get the right temp., then undress and a get in the tub to either get blasted with hot water or blasted with cold. Once the temperature and your body start to relate, then it is easy sailing until you turn the water off and step out into the cold. And start the whole drying off..blah blah blah crap.
