I sleep w/ the window open |
|
at least until it gets REALLY cold at night.
This a.m. at around 5:15, my neighbor had his radio playing loudly enough to wake me.
This is not the first time my neighbor has been unable to keep his noise to himself during ungodly hours.
I knocked on the door as I was leaving for work (radio was still playing) and although the dogs barked like mad, no one ever came to answer the door.
I left a note saying that they should either turn their radio down in the a.m., or shut their windows.
I'm not wrong am I? I mean, I know I can shut my window, but at 5:15 they're not covered by the noise ordinance (6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.). If they're the ones making the noise, they have the responsibility to contain it, right?

4. I like my version of the story better. |

Did I misunderstand? Does your noise ordinance kick in during the day hours, not the night hours. If so, that's the opposite of where I live.

6. Noise ordinance means quiet at nighttime. |

Frankly law be damned, common courtesy means keep your noise to yourself no matter what the hour. That's how people live peacefully when they live in close proximity.
But since there IS a noise ordinance, I'm not wrong to suggest that I should be allowed to sleep w/ my windows open without having to hear his music at 5:15 am.... right?

5. you are well within your right to complain |
|
I know at my house even with the windows closed I can still hear much of what is going on outside, so playing loud music at 5am is just plain dick-ish to do...especially when the weather is nice, who wants to run up their electricity bills this time of year?
