Watched the Wedding Crashers this weekend....
Edited on Mon Sep-18-06 03:24 PM by truebrit71
...what a complete waste of fucking time that was...

Oh, and will someone please tell Will Farrell his 15 minutes of over-acting fame were up, like four movies ago....:puke:

How does shit like this get made? I mean, seriously, how the fuck did this movie get any further than the pitch stage?

Vince Vaughan can't act, and needs to either a) get some fucking sleep, or b) stop doing so many fucking drugs because the bags under his eyes bother the fuck out of me...

Oh, and WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH OWEN WILSON'S beak? I can't stop staring at it!!!!

It was a fucking disaster from beginning to end, and the only reason I watched it was because every single one of the eight thousand other fucking movie channels I have were all, simultaneously showing mind-numbingly appalling dreck that was even fucking worse than this steaming pile of celluloid excrement.....

For the amount of money I spend on cable "entertainment" these days you would think that at least ONE fucking channel would have at least ONE fucking programmer that knew the difference between quality entertainment and the mindless, unimaginative, hideously cliched, dreadfully acted and poorly written mind-vomit that pollutes my cable box every month...

If this keeps up I'm going to have to turn the fucking TV off and read a fucking book!!!

Bastards!!!

4. I avoid anything with Vince Vaughan in it
He's a conservative asshole, from what I hear.

Poor Jennifer Anniston. From Brad Pitt (talented, attractive and liberal) to Vince Vaughan.

6. You should cancel cable, with that attitude
Seems like if you judge an actor's talent level by the shape of his nose, you're not going to be really happy watching movies, anyway. Especially if your first choice amongst the dozen or so options is something you hate that badly.

I like Ferrel, and Vaughn. Vaughn is bad when the director is bad, but he's clever when he gets a good role, like "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," or "Be Cool" (not a good film, but his role in it was good). Ferrel is the same way--he's as good as the script. Reminds me of Chevy Chase or Bill Murray. He was hilarious in "Talladega Nights."

Never saw "Wedding Crashers." I have no real urge to, though I might one day.

with Vince Vaughn and Joaquin Phoenix.

Excellent drama.

7. I think Will Ferrell is better in skits
I love him on SNL, love him even more when he is on Conan O'Brien, but I've been disappointed in his movies. But then, most ex-SNL'ers make shitty movies. SO I probably should have expected it.

9. I laughed a lot. It was a good, standard light comedy.

Nothing special, nothing overly bad, but for the most part found it humorous enough to laugh. A good, light, inoffensive non-substantive comedy.

11. Cable is an evil plot. Nothing is ever on and if anything good ever is,
it's replayed so many times, you end up hating it.

12. You are incorrect on multiple counts. The movie was funny.
Very funny, in fact--and one of Vaughn's better performances (they actually gave his character a development arc this time).

Trivia: the actress who plays the crazy sister in the movie is engaged to Sacha Baron Cohen (Ali G, Borat, Jean-Girard).

So that's what's up with that.

16. uh.. why didn't you just turn it off?

It doesn't take me long to realize a movie sucks. It gets turned off and I'm done with it.

Now, if you paid 10 bucks at the theatre to see it, I can see the rant - but on cable?
