I must be turning into a wimp. Left at 5:30 this morning, got home about |
|
half an hour ago, and I'm TIRED! And I was only driving about eight of those hours, at that.
I used to eat 15-hour days for breakfast. I'd come home from one, clean up, and go out to the bar.

Betcha if you were planning to go out tonight, you'd be fine.
You weren't, were you?
Sometimes riding tires me out more than driving.

2. I absolutely NEVER ride. No. If I'm in a moving car, I'm driving. |
|
Well, I did have 2 and a half hours on ferryboats. And there was beer on the one coming home.

5. Me, too. But I did get to experience a true miracle! |
|
I drove down I-95 to Bridgeport to get the morning ferry, then through Long Island to my appointment, THEN all the way out to the end of Long Island to catch (a different) ferryboat home, and only had to stop in traffic ONE TIME!
That simply does NOT happen in those places where I was today.

10. I must have just squeaked by. We all get lucky once in a while. |

Me less than most people, but I got my luck today.

6. Seems so. I'll know in a couple of weeks. |
|
I'm going to get right tow work on it, because if I find a buyer for his company, he's going to pay me a commission of...well, I can't say it here. Nobody would believe me.
Makes me almost want to chage careers and become a full-time business broker, but I doubt that one sale would be enough in the way of credentials to get a second client.

7. The body betrays us as we age. |
|
Any age past 21 with not enough booze and/or drugs constantly in our systems and we are a ripe target for tiredness and general boredom with the tediousness of routine tasks. I know. I've been feeling my age today, or should I say, I've been feeling twice my age today? I'm 36 and I feel so tired and worn out. I'd suggest someone take me out back and shoot me, but I do have that glimmer of hope that I'll start to regain my zest for life and my energy.
I must say though that I think I may suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder. On cloudy days, I just want to crawl back in bed and sleep it off until the sun comes back, then sleep until nightfall and gaze at the moon. I don't get my own sleep cycle/internal clock sometimes. I wait eagerly for spring and summer, then sleep all day and party all night all summer long. What good are the extra hours of sunlight if I am going to sleep until nightfall first chance I get anyhow? Oh, I get it. Sleep. That's the difference. I never seem to get enough sleep when I have to open my eyes before noon. I hate being on a daytime schedule.

12. Consider your "used to's" |
|
Even I can remember driving 20 hours on a journey. Now, not so much. Too many stupid-ass idiots "sharing" the road.
Not turning into a wimp, just evolving (or reacting) based on outside stimulus.
