1. only when my cat uses it
He goes outdoors, so he doesn't always need to use the box. It's here just in case it's raining or there is snow on the ground. He won't go out then.

3. I used to have a cat 15 years ago, that spent alot of time
outside and would need it cleaned every 3-5 months! She would rather just go outside.

2. Weekly but it doesn't seem to matter
The male cat pees everywhere BUT one of the three litter boxes, even when they're pristine, and the runt pisspot female is afraid to get comfy in a box because the lardass female lurks outside the door to pounce on her when she comes out, so she poops on the run in other secluded places.

I THINK I still love my felines... :eyes:

19. I'm having those problems too.
My bad kitty boys like to lurk and ambush my almost 14-year-old female when she uses the litterboxes. Understandably, she doesn't like to go downstairs to use them. So, I've been carrying her down a few times a day and guarding her. Of course, I don't always have great timing, and she's been leaving stinky surprises on our area rug or in her kitty bed. Wooooonderful ...

I still love them all to the point of being slightly insane, however.

8. TMI?
4 cats and 3 litters boxes. They get cleaned 2 to 3 times a day. More often if I'm aware that they just went. It's not like it's hard work to scoop it out. I keep a pail with a liner in it and empty that when I take the garbage out. With most types of litter the items in the pail don't smell and I haven't had any problems with bugs.

I use two types of litter so they can choose. Now if only I can find a way for them to wipe their feet and not track litter all over the place.

12. Four boxes, scooped several times daily, changed completely weekly
Each box is in or near a bathroom, so we just scoop and flush away.

14. I refuse to scoop.
:puke:

We use a disposable liner and change once a week. Three litter boxes for three cats.

18. I'm a bad cat mommy
2 cats, 1 litterbox...cleaned 2x/week.

Their box has a "lid" and the litter covers odor really well. They're lucky I remember to do it that often.

Meanwhile, I DO remember to feed them, and change their water daily. Of the two chores, I think that one's the most important. ;)

20. I guess that depends on what you mean by "clean"
I completely empty, scrub down and refill it once a week. But on a nightly basis I scoop the clumps and apply a litter deodorizer.

25. Usually twice a day
But we've only really got one litter box (well...three, but the cats only use one of 'em) and four cats. And it's a small litter box, so I usually clean it after the kids leave for school and then the kids clean it in the evenings before they go to bed.

Change it and wash it once a week, on average.
