I just came back from the toy store in the mall...
Edited on Sun Sep-24-06 12:25 PM by Scooter24
I was just at the mall and ran into the toy store to see if they had anything interesting out for Christmas. Just as I was coming around the corner near the back, a woman was bringing out several TMX Tickle Me Elmos. I grabbed one from her to check it out, and no more than 5 min later as I was coming to the front of the store, there were 5 women yelling at each other over the last one.

This is already looking to be one crazy holiday season.

Check out elmo here-

'cause my son is turning three this christmas and I think I'm gonna HAVE to get this for him.
I wonder what my shopping strategy should be?

2. From what the woman told me
most people are showing up daily when the store opens to check.

If I happen to come across another one, I'll grab it for ya. :)

3. Stock up now. Two weeks before Christmas, run an eBay auction.
Collect outrageous amount of money.

Put in Education IRA for son.

Fifteen years from now, your son can put a down payment on a car.

I bought this one to do just that.

Right now the average price for one on Ebay is around $60-$80. 2-3 weeks before Chrimstas, you can probably see $100-$150.

However, many stores are limiting them to either one or two per customer.

10. Find out when a store's shipment will be coming in
and get there at least half an hour before they open. That'll be your best chance.

They're also selling for $150-$200 on eBay.

16. This toy is going to scare the crap out of small children
I saw the original version terrify toddlers and babys when it first came out. Now the thing moves?? I suppose there's nothing more entertaining than watching the wee ones soil their diapers in fear.
